...Due Season

Image
As we approach the end of the year it has been a mixture of rough and smooth, fast and slow.. So many rush hour activities- hustling and bustling to garner all what we can. 2020 has indeed been a tough year for everyone but in all i am so glad we are all still here getting ready for the new year in excitement... In my personal assessment for the year something came across my heart which i feel is a major challenge in a world of uncertainty. "In due Season" As simple as it sound, this is a powerful adverb that carries a perfect or timely reward after a deed has been done continuously for an undocumented period of time. Take note of the word "undocumented" - Our time of reaping whatever we sow can't be predicted because that power belongs to God. The Bible says in Gal 6:9 " let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart". This got me thinking 🤔 It's tad easy to keep saying that when things are going ...

Look Good In It...

Image
So Gods word today is taken from the book of Daniel 3 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.”  Daniel 3:16 - 18 NLT  This story just opened my eyes to so many possibilities with the Almighty God! It started with Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego having COMPLETE TRUST in God. Everyone was doing it - bowing before the statue of Nebuchadnezzar - everyone was living the good life - everyone was living according to the desires of the flesh. But these 3 men chose to abstain - they chosed to follow the God of Abraham, Isaac, Moses & Jacob. Look at their response "The God we serve will save us and even if He doesn't we won't bow bef...

Domestic Violence - Look Before You Leap

Image
Domestic violence is any kind of behaviour that a person uses, or threatens to use to control an intimate partner. The two key elements are threat and control . It can take different forms: physical, sexual, psychological, emotional and economic. Physical - violent actions such as hitting, beating, pushing, throwing objects, and kicking. In many cases physical abuse becomes more frequent and severe overtime. Sexual - includes any sexual acts that are forced on one partner by the other. Emotional - undermining an individuals self esteem, constant criticism, insults, put-downs, and name-calling. Psychological - includes a wide range of behavious such as intimidation, isolating the victim from friends and family, controlling where the victim goes. Making them feel guilty or crazy, and making unreasonable demands. Economic - This includes limiting the victims access to family income, preventing the victim from working or forcing the victim to work, destroying the victims property,...

An Exciting Mistake - Chosing The Right Man

Image
By Gary Thomas Women, my goal is to get you to care about your boyfriend’s godliness as much as a wife cares about her husband’s godliness. It’s his character that will help keep your life mission alive as feelings begin to fade. I’ve rarely had a wife complain to me about her husband’s looks. When wives send me emails, it’s almost always about character issues: “He shouldn’t do this thing. He should do that thing, but doesn’t. How do I fix this?” Yet most women are not seeking men of character first. They are seeking men with whom they feel “in love.” If they do feel in love, they will excuse every fault they see in their man, trying to make the relationship work. If they do not feel in love, they will not seriously consider the man as a potential mate. In front of a very large group, I asked all the married women to stand up. Then I said, “I want you to sit down if you disagree with me that a man’s godliness should be one of the top two things a single woman should consider when choo...

Africa Unite - Fight Against Racial Discrimination

Image
I see what is happening today in the world and i wonder how did we get here? Even after ages of social interactions we still get racial discrimination....  White discriminating against blacks, blacks discriminating against blacks. The only group not discriminating against the blacks are animals.  We don't see eye to eye, we are not united. Your parents told you not to marry from another tribe. Yorubas hating on the Igbos, the igbos hating on the hausas, your experience with a Yoruba individual masked your judgement against all yorbas...  South Africans hating on Nigerians. Nigerians hating on South Africans. Our continent isn't just filled with black people but it's filled with black people with black hearts.. we don't love eachother. We have the most christians and muslims but our religion is base on discrimination, hatred, love of money, etc... We are never one and we wonder why we are where we are?...  A house divided against itself cannot stand and th...

Chasing God - Living a purposeful life

Image
In order to live a fruitful and successful life, our zeal for God should be equal to our expectations from Him. As He said in His words : “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7 NLT . The following steps will help in getting to chase after Jesus in order to attain a purposeful life. 1. Knowing Christ Ephesians 3:17–19: “That you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” When you come to this reality, that God is all you need to have your needs met, then the zeal to know him more kick-start! 2. You Are Treasured: First Peter 2:9–10 shows us that, in Christ, this is now our identity as well. We are God’s treasure. He loves us, not because of what we’ve done but bec...
