Community Might

Olagunju Muyiwa (B Pharm, M Pharm)- Emjosh

During the active lockdown period, there were lots of uncertainties which brewed mixed feelings and experiences too. In addition, it had elements of rest, indecision, loneliness, routine sleep and exercises, gists, meals, family time, catching up on old times amongst other things. Owing to the fact that myriads of the daily activities became routine, boredom soon ensued, thus, a lot of people started complaining and getting irritated of the isolation experience.

While that was the encounter for a number of people, some others took advantage of the season to engage in productive engagements including joining trainings online, learning new languages, learning new skills, decluttering their space, building more intimacy with family, setting new goals, learning new instruments, writing books and so on. Infact, some people joined new communities of like minded people whether professionally, spiritually, musically, emotionally or financially.

The lockdown period revealed vividly to me how strong and important it is to have/be a part of a community or unit of like minded people. They encourage, challenge, spur, correct, improve and help you grow. People of like minds could exist in the area of your career, profession, interest, spirituality, finance and other areas. They have similar opinions, thoughts, values, disposition and ideas with you. They understand and won't judge you even at moments when you become vulnerable and discuss your challenges with them, because they are on course with you. Some may have experienced, are experiencing or are aware of what you are passing through, so, they can help with way out, which will ease the pain and make you snap out of the challenge triumphantly.

The scripture states clearly in Ecc 4:10, "If you fall, your friend can help you up. But if you fall without having a friend nearby, you are really in trouble." (CEV) One of the many ways to get a community of like minded people who would assist you in achieving your goal faster and better, is by joining an online community related to your interest and value.

Social media when used properly is a fantastic tool to meeting your long awaited goal-reaching like minded community. I am eternally grateful for such community I met through an online coaching/training platform which has since then, been of immense support to me. I implore you not to trivialize the power of being in the right community. I can tell you that with such unit, you can achieve much more than you ever imagined faster and farther. Misty Copeland said, "Anything is possible when you have the right people there to support you."
You shall manifest.
