The Concept Of A Few (Two) - A Call To Righteousness & Service

Prince Dede

Another message we will be looking at from Gen 18:25-32 is righteousness and service. By now we know that when God want to do something new or to make a change He does look for people he can use - His children who he can rely on to carry out the task.

It's quite easy to get frustrated with what you see around you - the kind of activities people are involved in a time as this. But our focus as believers is not to get entangled in the web of disastrous living, we are to desire a world with an ever evolving zeal for God and righteous living - we are to be intentional about making a change in the scheme of things. For as Christ lovers we are influencers to impact the will of God on earth. And what He want is to see His people saved - to see you and I working in service to make an everlasting impact in our world. For we know the mind of Christ as believers is to give us an expected end.

However, instead of complaining we should make ourselves available and seperated for a life of service and righteoueness to be used by Him for the rejuvenation of our community being the light of our world. "The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living. Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see."( Romans 13:12). Our decent living is a testimony to our faith as Christians and that's where we need to start as His people. If we don't seclude ourselves from the unrighteousness of the world and stand as a light, how do we bring in folks that needs to be saved to the family of Christ? For the bible says "we are to be in the world but not of the world".

Truthfully, making a positive change could be difficult especially when you see the level of unrighteousness and wickedness in the world today, but as believers we are to intercede on behalf of creation. We are to stand in the gap for our community, our state and our nation. The book of Chronicles 7:24 says "Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land".

From the passage above the steps to take for a change are: (1.) Humility; it's time to be humble before God - it's time to accept that we need His help and that we can't do it alone. (2) Prayer; like they say "prayer is the key". When we kneel before him and make our request well known to Him, there's nothing that can't be done or undone! All we need is to trust in Him and seek His face. (3) Turn from your wicked ways; When we ask, it's important that we live right to get what we ask for. You can't eat your cake and have it - you can't get a new wine in an old bottle! You have to be ready for it and that means turning a new leaf.

If we can do all these, Then nothing can stop the change that will unfold!! Let your light so shine before men so they may see the good works and glorify your Father in heaven

So stand with me today, join those who are ready to be used by Him to bring an everlasting change! Selah🙏
